Financial Wellness

This month's meeting was hosted by Wedgewood Country Club.  Our speaker was Stephanie Wagner with Principal Financial.  Stephanie talked to us about keys to financial wellness and gave some tips about financial planning for the present and for the future.

 1. Improve your personal cash flow.

  • Build a better budget
  • 96% of people spend first and save later; 4% save first!
  • It is recommended that you have at least 6 months worth of income saved for an emergency fund
  • Know the impact of interest
  • Use debt wisely - it should be no more than 36% of your income

2. Protect what's important to you.

  • Property, health, income, loved ones, identity
  • Protect your legacy - inventory your insurance
  • Plan your estate

3. Secure your retirement

  • Get your savings to work for you

"A goal without a plan is just a wish!"
